After high school, Coach Kalb moved to Austin and graduated college from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Business Administration from the McComb’s School of Business. Coach Kalb worked as an Account Executive in the corporate Advertising business for three years, but soon decided that teaching and mentoring young men and women would be more fulfilling in which she could make a more impressionable difference in society.
Coach Kalb seeks to make a positive impact in every endeavor she assumes. She takes pride and joy in contributing to the successes and outstanding accomplishments of her pupils and cheerleaders. Her motto is “Whatever it takes.”
Coach Kalb is newly married for one year to her wonderful husband, Greg Kalb. Together they own two Akita dogs, Winnie and Lola. The Kalb family resides in Central Austin. Coach Kalb is grateful for all her family’s support and God’s daily blessings.
Coach Kalb’s mission for the Vandegrift Cheerleading Program is to uphold and support all athletic activities of the school and for all members to be positive ambassadors and leaders of the school. Coach Kalb believes cheerleading should teach teamwork, discipline, setting and reaching goals, hard work, responsibility and determination. She believes that those who have character, work hard and have a positive attitude are the most successful in whatever they do.
“Good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent. Most talents are to some extent a gift. Good character, by contrast, is not given to us. We have to build it piece by piece-by thought, choice, courage and determination.” - John Luther
